I’ve been in the market for a red light mask for a couple of months now but haven’t pulled the trigger on my purchase because, frankly, the options are overwhelming. It’s not exactly a cheap investment, so I want to make sure I’m choosing the best mask based on results and reviews—while also ensuring it provides the most benefits for my skin.
Do I get a wireless one or not? One that includes both red and blue light? A hard-sided or soft-sided design? So many options I didn’t even consider until I started researching. I won’t dive into the benefits of red light therapy (you can Google that yourself 😉), but if you’re in the market for a red light mask, here’s a quick round-up of the most recommended, FDA-approved options I’ve found.
CurrentBody - LED Light Therapy Face Mask $469 / $639 CAD
From what I’ve seen, the CurrentBody red light mask is one of the most popular on the market. I’m not sure if that’s because I’m constantly being targeted with ads for it, but many people I follow post about this mask, and it consistently appears on “best red light mask” lists. This is a soft-sided mask that flexes around your face. Overall, the reviews are positive, and they occasionally have sales, so you might be able to snag it at a discount if you’re lucky.
OmniLux - Contour Face $535 USD
Honestly, just copy and paste everything I said about the CurrentBody mask here. OmniLux is another highly popular soft-sided red light mask with strong reviews and a similar price point.
Dr. Dennis Gross - DRx SpectraLite™ FaceWare Pro $455 USD /$615 CAD
Honestly, this mask was never on my radar until I listened to this episode of the Well’s podcast with Dr. Dennis Gross as a guest. The episode was super informative, and by the end, I was like, I’m buying this mask. So, basically, the podcast did its job to hook me. Anyway, I didn’t immediately buy the mask like I said I would. The one thing that threw me off is that it’s a hard-sided mask and some reviews said it was uncomfortable. The price also puts it on the higher end of the market. With all that being said, this mask still comes highly recommended and you will probably see it on most media round-ups (I think the Dennis Gross team is doing a big PR push right now).
Kala - Red Light Therapy Mask $450 CAD / $350 CAD at Costco!
Lastly, is the Kala mask, this one is for all my Canadian girlies. Kala is a Canadian-based company specializing in red light therapy. Their products have many reputable reviews, so when I came across their mask, I thought it could be a solid option. It has positive feedback, with most users reporting good results. Plus, it’s currently available at Costco for just $350 CAD, making it the most budget-friendly option on my list.
Conclusion:
Based on price and sheer convenience of being able to go buy this mask immedaitely, I will probably go with Kala’s red light mask. But honestly, I’d be happy to slap any one of these masks on my face.

Let me know if anyone has these masks, I’d love to hear some feedback!
Oooh love this one, B! Definitely need to get in the red light train 🚂
I have the Omnilux men's version which is great! I got that one as apparently it's stronger than the original? And the design is simpler, it's just gray as opposed to white with teal designs.
